As the lead of the front-end team, I'm responsible for any HTML/CSS/JS that goes on to production. I consult with the creative and art directors on feasibility of interface solutions, trends and aesthetics. Building prototypes as POC's for new creative or technical ideas. Performing cross-browser QA deciding on when to apply graceful degradation. Acting as the liaison between creative team and back-end team. Overseeing the integration of third-party modules into our website. I manage and train other front-end developers, and train designers and editors on our CMS. I also fill in for missing positions of IA, UX and FA, as needed.

The lead presentation layer developer in an Agile team that develops and maintains the corporate website. Extensive CSS and jQuery work. Constructing the website and building its nested assets on FatWire. Consulting with the user experience, functional analysts, information architects and creative teams on best practices, feasible solutions and template creation. Client-managed back-end Integration. Involved in updates and enhancements for legacy code: JavaScript, MooTools, ActionScript, Flash, CSS and Metrics.

Dow Jones

Developed the front-end for a new subscription system for both Wall Street Journal and Barron’s. Designed and developed an intranet system for managing subscriptions.

Worked in teams that generally consisted of 23 colleagues from Razorfish, CondéNet and CondéNast. Consulted on feasibility for implementation in the early stages of design. Built the markup of DCT’s based on their original system, minimizing all possible changes to back-end programming, focusing on intensive CSS, and JavaScript, in addition to photo editing and processing. Was chosen by the client to be the lead developer for Architectural Digest, Lucky, W, and Gourmet.

Enhanced and updated already-built HTML/CSS pages. Added different versions to the homepage, each to be used according to the layout of the each day’s news content while maintaining the basic structure of the original homepage. To do this, complex CSS programming was used to provide variation in homepage HTML without impacting the existing back-end programming.

Developed complete web presence for IT start-up run by American entrepreneurs in Cairo, Egypt, using ASP for programming and Microsoft Access for database design and implementation. The site included a news engine, online directory of IT companies and training centers in Egypt, certificates and courses provided by each, online registration and preparation exams. Also created a basic CMS. Supervised the site’s web design and content creation.

The Cairo branch office of NetStartups, Virginia, USA. Guided site designers and project teams in website design and usability. Developed and maintained several special sites on company owner’s request due to ability and individual initiative, used either ColdFusion or ASP for programming, SQLServer for database design and implementation, and HTML, XML/XSL for scripting.
